The Magnitude of the Problem
Coronary Artery Disease (CAD) is the leading cause of death in women >60 years old
Women <60 y.o. 1 in 17 have CAD (as compared to 1 in 5 men)
Women > 60 y.o. 1 in 4 will die from CAD (similar to men)
Deaths from CAD have been on the decline since 1960s but rate of decrease has been slower in women.
Notes:
I hope I can in some way impress upon you what a widespread problem CAD is in both men and women.
As you can see it is the leading cause of death is women over 60 y.o.
