- Daily sodium allowance: 2000 - 3000 mg
- 1 teaspoon of salt = 2300 mg
- Tips for Limiting Sodium
- Throw away the salt shaker. No salt on the table
- Eat more fresh fruits/vegetables
- Bake, grill, roast food without salt
- Avoid convenience foods such as frozen dinners, deli meats, canned soups
- Avoid MSG, baking soda, baking powder
- Read food labels!!!
