Arrhythmias

• Serious when heart rate is too fast or too slow to pump blood effectively

• Atrial fibrillation (medicines, pacemakers)

• Ventricular fibrillation

  • Dizziness, fainting, chest pain
  • Sudden death (6 - 9 times greater in CHF)
  • Defibrillators

• Find the cause, do not just treat the abnormal beats
