Transplantation
Even if you need a transplant, you may not qualify. Reasons people do not qualify:
- Advanced age No caregivers
- Bleeding ulcer
- Poor kidney function
- Active cancer
- Recent lung blood clot
- Another disease with a poor survival rate
- Severe infection/bleeding of the intestine
- Alcohol or tobacco use in the last six months
- Severe blockages in the arteries of the legs/neck
- Diabetes severely affecting nerves, kidneys, eyes
- Heart disease that can infect/harm the transplant
