Pharmacologic Therapy

• Hydralazine:

  • Can be given orally and intravenously(again)
  • A first line drug with methyldopa
  • now more supplanted by labetolol
  • 25 tid to 100 qid
  • 5 mg IV in 15 to 20 minute intervals
  • Infusion: 3-10 mg/hr up to 80 mg/hr
