Chronic Hypertension in Pregnancy:
Blood Pressure of 140/90 before the 20th week of gestation. Severe >160/110 mm Hg
Proteinuria is usually absent
Treatment usu. initiated with SBP > 150
Patients are at increased risk of developing preeclampsia
A w/u of secondary hypertension should be considered in many of these patients.
