Our Mission:
The physicians and staff of Illinois Heart and Vascular are dedicated to providing the best heart and vascular care to our communities through experienced physicians, compassionate care, and access to the newest technology.

Our Vision:
Through the use of state of the art medicine, we will become Illinois’ heart and vascular choice for all patients, referring physicians, and staff by providing:

• Compassionate care to all heart and vascular patients, referring physicians, and staff
• Experienced physicians, nurses, technicians, and staff who patients can identify as their physician, their nurse, their technician, or their liaison. An environment in which patients are proud to be our patients, and staff is proud to work for us.
• Access to the highest quality and cutting edge technology modern that medicine has to offer.

It began with one man, and one vision. In 1971, Dr. G. William Cotts had a dream of bringing cardiac care at a university level to the suburban hospital setting.

With the vision of Dr. Cotts, LaGrange Memorial Hospital was the first hospital in the western suburbs to have a catheterization laboratory. The lab has grown from diagnostic procedures to a lab with heightened level of detection, prevention and interventional treatment in cardiology. In 1972, Dr. Cotts and his team performed the first coronary angiogram in the hospital. In 1990 Dr. Jerome Hines revolutionized cardiac care in the western suburbs by performing a PTCA procedure to clear blocked coronary arteries and restore blood flow to the heart, and again in 1994 by performing the areas first procedure to insert a stent for a blocked coronary artery. In 2005, we were the first in Chicago with GE’s 64 slice CT scanning machine.

Today, we continue to practice as the leaders of cardiovascular medicine in our communities. As our practice has grown we realized the need to change our name to better fit the values, image, and expansion of the practice. And with that, the name Illinois Heart and Vascular was born. President Jerome Hines, M.D. says, "The compassionate care that built West Suburban Cardiologists grew to our communities in LaGrange, Hinsdale, Oak Lawn, Westchester, Palos Heights, Tinley Park, and Chicago. Illinois Heart and Vascular embodies who we are. We have the areas most experienced physicians and access to the newest technology for treating all heart and vascular disease."

For over 30 years, Illinois Heart and Vascular have been specializing in the detection, treatment and rehabilitation of cardiac diseases. Our breadth of specialties includes blood pressure and cholesterol management, diagnostic testing, and our Clinics-Coumadin, Heart Failure, Lipid, Arrhythmia, and Vascular.
